Royal Commission into
Aged Care Quality and Safety

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety was established on 8 October 2018 to investigate the quality of aged care services for the Australian community. The final report was released 21 March 2021.

Our Submission

The National Aged and Community Care Roundtable for Forgotten Australians was submitted to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety in mid-2020. The submission included multiple case studies and multiple recommendations to have a special focus on Forgotten Australians.

Department of Health and Age Care

The Department of Health and Aged Care’s section offers extensive resources and information for general inquiries about Aged Care, as well as news and announcements. The My Aged Care section contains additional resources.

The Department of Health and Aged Care also has specific resources for carers of Forgotten Australians. This resource collection is called the Caring for Forgotten Australians, Former Child Migrants and Stolen Generations Information Package.

Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability

The Royal Commission was established in April of 2019 as a response to public concerns about widespread reports of violence against, and the neglect, abuse, and exploitation of, people with disability. The Interim Report is to be released on 30 October 2020. They additionally provide progress reports every six months.

Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse

The Royal Commission was established in November of 2019 and the Royal Commission presented a final report to the Governor-General, detailing the culmination of a five year inquiry into institutional responses to child sexual abuse and related matters 15 December 2017.
